King David Women Ministry will hold its annual Woman’s Day celebration on May 26, 2019 during our 8:00 a.m. service. Our guest speaker is Sis.

Sports

The annual District 10-3A Track & Field Meet was recently held at Lutcher High School. The top four finishers in each event qualified for the Regional Meet.

Both the St. James and Lutcher High baseball teams saw their seasons come to an end as both were ousted in the first round of the state playoffs.

The Lutcher Bulldog Baseball team qualified for the Class 4A state playoffs and are seeded No. 11 in the bracket. The Bulldogs hosted No.

Memorial Day

On Monday, May 27, we will celebrate Memorial Day, one of my favorite holidays. It’s a day Americans set aside to remember those whom most people have forgotten.

On Thursday, May 9th Gramercy Elementary School held its 10th annual Gator Gala at Lutcher High School. The theme for the event was “GES Makes a Splash.”

St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina was the setting Tuesday night, May 11, 2019 to pray for the graduating senior classes of Lutcher High School, Riverside Academy and St.

Children’s Theatre workshop will be held in June at St. John Theatre in Reserve.

Obituaries

Pete enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 18, 1946 and was sent to the European Theater. He was honorably discharged on March 15, 1949. He reinlisted the following day.

Miles Ernest Dexter of Gramercy LA, born on July 17, 2017 in Metairie LA died on April 22, 2019. Miles could steal a heart in a minute, especially with the ladies.

Bessie “Betty” Guidry Millet, a native of Paulina, LA and a resident of Lutcher, LA, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. She was 88 years old.
