On Saturday, April 27, 2024, the St. James Parish Sheriff's Office is participating in the DEA National Drug Take Back initiative, a focused endeavor aimed at removing potentially hazardous controlled substances from circulation within our communities.
The LSU AgCenter, West St. James Farm Bureau, and East St. James Farm Bureau will sponsor the Home Vegetable Garden Contest this spring for adults and 4-H / youth. They will also sponsor Tomato Field Day which will be held in mid-May 2024.
Last weekend, April 19-April 21, students with the St. James Parish Talented Art program joined our 2023 Miss St. James Parish Relay for Life queen in her efforts to Paint the Parish Purple to raise money for Relay for Life and bring awareness to the upcoming event.
Nobody likes paying more taxes, but because our industries here in St. James Parish don’t pay their fair share, the Parish Council is coming up short on money to fund our trash collection.
I typically dismiss dreams; however, when one stays with me all day, just as vividly as it occurred when I was asleep, I pause and pay attention.
