The St. James High School Historical Committee will induct new members of its Hall of Distinction during the half-time of the Friday night football game on Friday, September 11, 2026. Among those to be added to this exemplary group of men and women are Henry Ordoyne and Marline Ferchaud Sutherland.

Norma & Mark Louque Awarded Garden Of The Month For August

The Riverside Garden Club’s Garden of the Month for August is awarded to Norma and Mark Louque of Lutcher. This home, located at 2050 Jefferson Highway, hosts a garden which is only about six years old. After several years away, Norma and Mark decided to move back home to St. James Parish. When the Louques toured this home and property, they immediately fell in love, even knowing both the interior and exterior of the home and gardens would require a great deal of time and effort. Norma admits she and Mark focused on gardens and the exterior of this River Road home before fully tackling the inside of the home.
