Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (Louisiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force) announced last week the arrest of a St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy who was charged with Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile and other related charges.
Last week the Louisiana Ethics Board convened and one of the many matters taken up by the Board was an advisory opinion request made by the St. James Parish Council on whether a small tract of land owned by Parish President Pete Dufresne’s family (his deceased mother’s family) could be sold to the Parish to be used for Parish drainage and possibly for a sewer project in the distant future.
Four historic markers were revealed this past Saturday at the St. James Parish Library in Lutcher. Historians worked with Barbara Washington and Gail LeBeouf of Inclusive Louisiana as well as historians, pastors and members of the recognized churches to compile the information included on the markers.
