Lutcher Man Found Guilty Of Attempted First Degree Murder Of Police Officer
On the evening of Friday, October 13, 2025, a St. James Parish Jury found 41-year-old Edward Young, III (of 2184 Levy Gaudet St., Lutcher, LA), guilty of the following charges: *Attempted 1st Degree Murder of a Police Officer *Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities *Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm Young was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Adam Koenig and Bruce Mohon. The District Judge assigned to this case was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin, and standing in for Judge Martin for trial was the Honorable Ad-Hoc
Wildcat Hall Of Fame And Hall Of Distinction Announce Newest Members
St. James High School will name four inductees to the Hall of Fame and one to the Hall of Distinction during the halftime of the Friday, October 24th, game to be played at Wildcat stadium in Vacherie.

Council Fails To Introduce Nucor Ordinance
The St. James Parish Council last week failed to introduce an ordinance that would have authorized a second servitude agreement between St. James Parish and Nucor Steel, Inc. for its carbon capture pipeline.
