Parish utilities customers are suffering undue stress and confusion after receiving exceedingly high utility bills, according to District 6 St. James Parish Council member Vondra Etienne-Steib. She said Parish residents on a fixed income are surprised to receive high water and gas bills due to usage averaging.

The Town of Lutcher’s Mayor and Board of Aldermen met in special session on Tuesday evening to possibly conduct a employee termination hearing/ appeal, but after the Town Attorney explained the law to the Aldermen, the meeting was declared unnecessary and was adjourned without any business being conducted.
