Dear Friends and Neighbors, The Knights of Columbus “Bishop Ott Works of Mercy Dinner” will be held this Sunday, October 26, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. As usual, the menu will be Chicken and Dirty Rice at $10.00 per plate.
St. James Parish Government and the Keep St. James Parish Beautiful Tour is hosting a Tour of Restaurants, from October 1st through December 1st, thanks to a generous grant from Keep Louisiana Beautiful. All participating restaurants are registered as a Clean Biz through Keep Louisiana Beautiful, and are committed to helping keep their store front and our parish litter-free.
I travel Hwy. 20 to Thibodaux at least six days a week. The road can be challenging at times. Well, let me retract that. The drivers on the road can challenging at times. When I get to tri-corners in the morning and look to my right for oncoming traffic, I know that if there is a cane truck in that line, I will be taking a 40-mile-per-hour drive all the way to Thibodaux. That’s not a bad thing. I’d rather fall in line behind a cane truck to take a slow and somewhat easy drive, than to be chased by over aggressive drivers. I use that time to pray for all the teens who drive their younger brothers and sisters to school each day, or the elderly who are making their way to an early appointment.
Turkey Shoot will take place from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., and we will be hosting a very special guest from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
