The U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that a group of St. James Parish residents may proceed with a lawsuit calling for a pause on new and expanding petrochemical plants in their communities. The case, filed by Inclusive Louisiana, Mt. Triumph Baptist Church, and RISE St. James, raises long-standing concerns about the impact of industrial development in majority-Black districts of the Parish.
Lutcher High School student, Mr. Micah Waguespack, son of Gary and Sandi Waguespack of Gramercy, Louisiana was selected by the American Legion Post 171 membership to attend the Louisiana Boys State.
