Dear Readers, Over the last few weeks I have personally had several conversations with friends and acquaintances concerning the Law Enforcement District Proposition (tax renewal) on March 29, 2025 election ballot, and due to many of these conversations, I have decided to write a few words to help voters understand what they are being asked to vote on.

The Gramercy Mayor and Board of Aldermen are considering an ordinance that will allow the use of golf carts and slowmoving vehicles such as Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTV’s) on the streets within the Town of Gramercy corporate limits.
The Lutcher Mayor and Board of Aldermen met last Wednesday evening in regular session and Mayor Patrick St. Pierre told the Board the current Town water rates are not generating enough revenue to sustain the water fund and the Mayor also introduced the 202526 Operating Budget.
The St. James Parish School Board opted to have their monthly Board meeting right dab in the middle of where all the action was taking place beautiful downtown Vacherie at St. James High School.
