Dear Friends and Neighbors, The Knights of Columbus “Bishop Ott Works of Mercy Dinner” will be held this Sunday, June 25, 2023 beginning at 11:00 a.m. As usual, the menu will be Chicken and Dirty Rice at $10.00 per plate.
St. James Parish Government, DHR, Community Action Agency has been awarded federal funding through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Emergency Food & Shelter National Board Program.
This spring we had well more than our usual number of contestants for the St. James Vegetable Garden Contest. Two Louisiana Master Gardeners (LMGs), a neighboring Horticulture Agent, my kids, and I spent a day touring St. James and St. John Parishes to judge gardens in late May. (I abstain from voting to avoid bias, though.)
