The Lutcher Mayor and Board of Aldermen met Tuesday evening in regular session and former Lutcher Alderwoman Darlene Riley addressed the Board to ask what the Town can do to help residents still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Ida and what can be done to fight blight.
Last Thursday, several concerned citizens, local elected officials, and members of several environmental watch-dog groups gathered at the St. James Parish Boat Club to receive information on an industrial project already in the works that opponents contend if completed, could have a negative and devastating impact on Lake Maurepas and the surrounding areas, including areas in St. James Parish.
