The Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center is pleased to announce a new photography exhibit that embodies Southern and Cajun history, culture, tradition, landscapes, and environments of southern Louisiana. The exhibit features the photography of Nadine Nelson and Nydia Cooper, of N and N Fine Art Photography. The exhibit opened Tuesday, December 20, 2022, and will run through February 28, 2023. The exhibit coincides with the reopening of the Center following the replacement of floors throughout the building.

St. James Parish Government, Department of Human Resources, Community Action Agency through the Huey & Angelina Wilson Grant “Caring Hands” Program has funds available to assist parish residents who are experiencing a documented financial hardship with emergency assistance such as rental/mortgage assistance, utility/security deposits including connection fees, utility payments, food, medical assistive devices such as: wheelchair ramps and handrails, prescriptive medication, travel vouchers to drug rehab and also assist individuals affected by a house fire with emergency clothing and lodging.
Commodities will be distributed via drive through on a first come, first served basis to all registered applicants. Identification will be required to pick up commodities. To be eligible to receive commodities, an individual must be a resident of St. James Parish and meet the income guidelines below.
