After his years on the field, Durel forged a remarkable career as a businessman, building successful insurance and banking companies through hard work, dedication, and integrity.
Beyond his accomplishments, Durel was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love for his family was unwavering. He lived his life with joy, purpose, and a generous spirit that touched everyone who knew him. To his grandchildren, he was simply “Gramps,” a source of warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love. His absence will leave a profound void, and he will be deeply, deeply missed.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Chateau St. James for the compassionate care they provided to Durel, as well as to Amedisys Hospice and his many devoted caregivers.
