Alice Minvielle Elfer
Alice Minvielle Elfer passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026 at the age of 91.
She was born on August 2, 1934 in Central, Louisiana to loving parents Wilhemena Kilburn and Joseph “Trist” Minvielle, Sr., Alice was a lifelong resident of Convent, Louisiana.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Al “Big Al” Elfer, Sr., her children Amy Pinson, David Elfer, Traci Louque (Leon) and Al Elfer, Jr., her grandchildren Paul Bourgeois (Courtney), Molly Pinson, Jamie Bourgeois (Lane) and Jan Pinson, her great grandchildren Desiree, Hayden, Trey, Maci, Avah and Riley and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, daughter Jan Elfer, daughter-in-law Dorna Chauvin Elfer, and granddaughter Melissa Elfer, as well as her brother Joseph “JT” Minvielle, Jr., his wife Ruth and their son John.
A loving wife, mother, sister, maw maw, aunt and friend, Alice was happiest when surrounded by family and friends hosting weekly Sunday dinners and Christmas Eve celebrations alongside her husband. She was kind, compassionate and selfless, treating everyone she met like family. She was fun-loving, enjoyed dancing, and had an infectious laugh. Finding great joy digging in the dirt, she loved tending to her many flowerbeds and propagating collected plant “snippets.” She was a talented jewelry and rosary maker, seamstress, and cook, always looking to try her hand at something new. A devout Catholic, she found great peace in praying the rosary. She will be profoundly missed and remembered by her enduring smile. 'We love you much!'
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church at 6484 LA44, Convent, LA 70723 on Friday, February 27, 2026. The rosary will be prayed from 9:30 to 10 a.m., followed by visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., and a Funeral Mass beginning at 11 a.m.
