Amelie Delatte Becnel

Amelie Delatte Becnel, 77, died suddenly of natural causes at her home in Georgetown, Texas, on February 17, 2026. She was a native and longtime resident of Vacherie, Louisiana. She had a long career as a legal secretary but believed that her most important job had been raising her children, Marc and Erin, to whom she was devoted until her last breath.

Amelie is survived by Erin and her spouse, Laurie Helton, of Round Rock, Texas, and by Marc and his spouse, Ayme, of Makakilo, Hawaii. Also surviving Amelie are her adored grandsons, Maddox, Braxton, and Broox, all of Makakilo.

Additionally, Amelie is survived by a sister, Karen Clement (Raymond), and two brothers, Thomas and Joseph (Rosie). Amelie was predeceased by her parents, Thomas Delatte and Pearl Falgoust Delatte.

As she wished, her body has been cremated. A service has not yet been scheduled. The family asks that any memorial offerings be made to The Cure Starts Now, Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation, Make-A-Wish Hawaii or a charity of your choosing.
