UKS Lewis ( Bud ) Luks

Lewis ( Bud ) Luks, age 79, peacefully passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024.

Lewis “Bud” Luks was born in Cleveland, OH, on June 19, 1945, to Lewis and Eleanore Luks. He is survived by sisters Elaine Cicora (Dan), Nancy Bland (Joel), brother Philip Luks, nephews James Quinn (Susan), and Dean Cicora, grandniece’s McKenzie Quinn and Alden Cicora, grandnephew Dalen Cicora. Bud enjoyed many years as a teacher.

Luks youth minister, adult educator, Junior High English teacher, and University professor. It was always his hope to instill good values and life skills in all he encountered.

His teaching experiences included: Chanel High School, Bedford, Ohio; Queen of Apostles Church, Alexandria, VA; St. James Church, Falls Church, VA; Sacred Heart, St. Joseph, and St. Michael Churches, all on the River Road in southeast LA; 22 years at Mary Immaculate School (Basilica School of Mary Immaculate) in Key West, FL; and 25+ years at Saint Leo University, Boca Chica Naval Air Station, Key West.

His most recent experience was as a Realtor with Preferred Properties in Key West, FL.

He leaves behind a full life, many wonderful experiences, many friends, and the wish that anyone suffering from addiction of any kind seek the help that is easily available. Turn your life over to your Higher Power (as you understand him), and decide that living your life one day at a time will give you the happiness that your addiction can’t.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on December 7th at 3:00 p.m. Mass will be held at The Basilica of Saint Mary Star of the Sea, 1010 Windsor Lane, Key West, Florida 33040.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Basilica School of Saint Mary Star of the Sea in Bud’s name.
