Yvette Frederic

Yvette Frederic, a native from a small community of Central in St. James Parish, LA and a resident of Convent, LA, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at the age of 90.

Yvette loved nurturing her cats, working in her yard and cherished her time with family and friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Beloved wife of the late Leroy Frederic. Loving mother of Gwen Schexnaydre, Patrick Frederic (Connie), and the late Clinton Frederic.

Grandmother of Tina Schexnaydre (Brian) Young and Crystal (Ernie) Matherne.

Great-grandmother of Laine (C.J.) Cherry, Blair, Brooklyn and Brock Matherne, and the late Mason Schexnaydre. Great-Great grandmother of Sawyer Cherry.

Daughter of the late Jules Mire and the late Maria Melancon Mire. Sister of the late Kathleen Andermann. Aunt of Paulette (Tim) Templet, Clark (Loretta) Andermann, Lisa (Gary) Kidd, Cary Andermann, Carla (Rusty) Schexnaydre, and the late Kevin Andermann.

Pallbearers were Brian Young, C.J. Cherry, Tim Templet, Brennan Templet, Ian Kidd and Zane Kidd.

Relatives and Friends were invited to the Visitation and Funeral Service on Monday, June 2, 2025 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Visitation was from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the Funeral Service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Burial followed the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Union, LA.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation given by OLOL Ascension Hospital doctors and staff, especially her sweet caring nurse Judy whom Yvette adored, and St. James Parish Hospital doctors and staff for her care.
