The St. James Parish Economic Development Department would like to recognize the accomplishments, hard work, and leadership of our local businesses.
This summer, St. James Parish Government welcomed 22 student interns who contributed their time and talents across a wide range of departments. These students gained valuable hands-on experience while supporting public services and developing professional skills to carry into their future careers.
It’s been 25 years since the first legal import of Serama to the United States in 2001. These small chickens are raised for showing. Jerry Schexnayder, who first brought the Seramas to the country, is now planning the 25th Anniversary Serama Bash—Show of Shows on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the District 7 Park in South Vacherie.
Non-Faculty coaches have been a growing trend since the LHSAA voted 25 years ago to approve nonfaculty assistant coaches for all sports.
