The St. James Boys & Girls Track & Field teams completed their season by competing in the Class 3A State Meet held at Bernie Moore Track Stadium on the campus of LSU.

The St. James Parish Retired Teachers will meet Thursday, June 12 at the PR Building. Registration will begin at 10:30. The meeting will follow at 11:00.
The St. James Fishing Team hosted their annual fishing fundraiser tournament on Saturday, May 10, 2025. After three days of rain and high water in the bayous and lakes near Vacherie, tournament day cleared up and was great for catching fishing.
In August 1939, renovations to Schexnayder’s hotel, restaurant and bar in Gramercy were nearly completed, as workmen put the finishing touches on the modernistic counter and tables in the dining room. R. A. Schexnayder said at the time that he had undertaken the remodeling and enlarging project because of the increase of business. The restaurant and bar were remodeled in Masonite with Celotex tempered hard boards on the floors. New tables and chairs and two modern indirect lights were placed in the restaurant. Both sets of restrooms were moved and completely remodeled and a comfortable phone booth was erected. A 42-inch attic fan capable of drawing 16,500 cubic feet of fresh air per minute was installed. The newspaper reported that the people of the community were excited about the improvements and were anxious to visit.
