Ancestors of several St. Philip families gathered at St. Philip Catholic Church last Saturday, June 14th, to unveil a historical marker memorializing the site of a cyclone which caused the deaths of several residents.
The St. James Spring Vegetable Garden conducted in May was a success this year with 12 gardens entering the contest! I had a busy day visiting all of the gardens, but it was a great day seeing the talents of our gardening community. We had entries from Convent, Paulina, Lutcher, and Vacherie.
