St. James Parish Hospital, St. James Parish Department of Human Resources and the Louisiana Alzheimer’s Association, are partnering to offer ongoing Caregiver Support Group Meetings for caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s and related diagnoses.

Frank Gant, a concerned parent, wrote a detailed and impassioned letter to the News Examiner-Enterprise on June 6, 2024, recounting the disturbing mistreatment his son, a special needs student who recently graduated in May and who has Down Syndrome and is non-verbal, faced while a student at Lutcher High School.
Last Friday, the Town of Lutcher was a guinea pig of sorts when a few select streets in Lutcher became testing sites for a new road/street surface material that could change the way roadways are not only repaired and resurfaced, but also built from scratch.
