After Another Local Judge Self-recuses, Blaise Gravois’ Attorneys Ask Appellate Court To Appoint Outside/Ad Hoc Judge

Former St. James Parish Director of Operations Blaise Gravois, who was initially indicted by 23rd Judicial District Attorney Ricky Babin more than 5-years ago on five counts of alledged Malfeasance in Office, is now asking the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal to intervene and appoint an Ad Hoc Judge (a judge outside of the 23rd Judicial District) to preside over his case and to speed up the legal process.

Public Hearings Set On Proposed Ordinance Regarding Lawsuits Against Parish Personnel

In a six to one vote last Wednesday, the St. James Parish Council agreed to hold two public hearings, one on each side of the river, on a proposed ordinance that will allow individual members of the Council to decide what attorney fees, costs and expenses incurred by officers, officials and employees of the Parish will be paid by the Parish because of civil litigation and/or criminal prosecution under certain circumstances.
