The St. James Parish Council last week held the first of two public hearings on an ordinance setting standards for the development of solar energy farm facilities in St. James Parish.
The St. James Parish Council last Wednesday voted to approve Koch Methanol’s request to participate in the Louisiana Industrial Tax Exemption Program (ITEP), which offers financial incentive to industry and manufacturers to build or expand their facilities in the state. The incentive equals to an 80 percent reduction on their property taxes for the first 10 years.
Last Saturday, St. James Parish residents gathered at the polls to cast their votes in a pivotal election that would determine the future direction of their community.
