The St. James Parish Council, on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, voted to introduce an ordinance granting a 45 percent increase in the monthly stipend paid to the members of the Council, but will not take effect until the next Council takes office in January 2024.

First Community Antioch BC is planning the launch of a Church Basketball League for area boys and girls. This is being communicated to our sister churches in the St. James and St. John Parishes. Mentors like ourselves can help these young people cultivate relationships, discard territorial baggage while instilling in them teamwork, discipline, and the teachings of Jesus Christ. We are all aware of the issues facing our youth today. It is imperative that we take a stand and provide wholesome recreational activities that they can take part in. A League such as the one we envision and are preparing for will act as a bridge between community and church.
