SJP Elderly Program Taking Applications
St. James Parish Government, Department of Human Resources, Community Action Agency, Elderly Program has available slots for the Alzheimer’s Voucher Program for fiscal year 2021-2022 and is currently taking applications.
Financial Assistance Available
Low-income residents of St. James Parish may be eligible for financial assistance to help pay utility bills, through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The LIHEAP program is a federally funded program administered by St. James Parish Government, Department of Human Resources, CAA made available to St. James Parish through the Louisiana Housing Corporation. Persons applying for assistance must provide the necessary documentation below to complete a LIHEAP application:
Robichaux And The River
After a nationwide search, Jay Robichaux has filled the role of executive director of the River Parishes Tourist Commission following longtime director Buddy Boe’s departure in June. In this role, Robichaux is responsible for leading a team of tourism professionals in the marketing of St. Charles, St. John the Baptist and St. James parishes - a region that is rich in history and culture.
Council Can Now Borrow Up To $8 million While Awaiting FEMA Reimbursement
The St. James Parish Council last week adopted an ordinance authorizing the sale of $8 million of taxable hurricane recovery bonds to pay the costs of debris removal, demolition, rehabilitation, repair, reconstruction, ren ovation, and other expenses incurred in Hurricane Ida recovery.
