The St. James Parish School Board held its regular meeting at Gramercy Elementary Tuesday evening and although the Board was the guest of honor, by no means was the Board the star of the show.
Last weekend was a very tragic one in St. James Parish as one man died and three others suffered gunshot wounds in two separate shootings; one that took place on the east bank in Paulina and a second one on the West Bank in Vacherie.
St. James Parish Government, Department of Human Resources, Community Action Agency along with the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank will distribute commodities to eligible families and individuals in St. James Parish on February 1 through February 3, 2022.
Low-income residents of St. James Parish may be eligible for financial assistance to help pay utility bills, through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The LIHEAP program is a federally funded program administered by St. James Parish Government, Department of Human Resources, CAA made available to St. James Parish through the Louisiana Housing Corporation. Persons applying for assistance must provide the necessary documentation below to complete a LIHEAP application:
