When the St. James Public School District returned from the Christmas and New Year’s holiday in early January and promptly announced that all K-12 students would remain in the “Hybrid/A-B” model of learning until at least March 16th, that news did not go over very well with many parents.
Students graduating in 2021 from St. James or Lutcher High School in St. James Parish are eligible to apply for a scholarship of $3,500 per year for up to four years. Please note that all applicants must be majoring in Engineering or Metallurgy.
This week, Business Development Director Linda Prudhomme was recognized during January’s regular commission meeting, honoring her for the over 19 years of service to the Port of South Louisiana and celebrating the legacy of hard work and dedication she leaves behind as she retires.
Morning announcements have gotten an upgrade at Paulina Elementary School! We are happy to share that announcements are now live streamed into classrooms each morning through Google Meet. Announcements include the playing of the 7 habits of successful people songs, pledge of allegiance, a moment of silence, the Pelican Pledge, the St. James School System Motto, the habit of the month, an act of kindness idea for the day, and (by request of the students) our lunch menu for the day.
The Walmart Community Grants team and facility #532 were pleased to inform Evergreen Baptist Church of Paulina, Louisiana and Pastor Nolan Albert that their community grant application was selected to receive a $500.00 grant. Walmart’s grants team was thrilled to support Evergreen Baptist Church and Pastor Albert.
