During the month of December, the iReady winter diagnostic was administered to all 4-6 grade students. Students who scored green, which equates to grade level proficiency, participated in the iReady Green Party. To celebrate this achievement, students enjoyed a delicious meal from Raising Cane's.
“The Beginning of Sorrows” We are living in the last days before the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth. Jesus foretold accurately the signs of the times; indeed, they read like the headlines of the evening news: “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24: 6-8).
I remember following my grandfather around his vegetable garden when I was young every chance I had. “Pappy” let us grandkids pick beans, tomatoes, and every other vegetable under the sun. We enjoyed it all but the highlight was potato time. Pappy would let us dig around the plants with our hands, hopefully exposing some good-sized spuds. If we found some, he’d get a shovel and carefully dig under the plant. As he lifted it up, potatoes would drop from the roots and we’d scramble to grab them like it was a Reservegrow Cajun piñata. Then we’d dig all around and find more loose ones in the soil.
