The St. James Parish Retired Teachers Association will meet on Thursday, September 11, 2025. The meeting will be held at the Public Relations Building behind the SJP School Board building.
“Jazzed Up” Summer Reading Program Wraps Up With A Season Full Of Fun, Learning, And Community Spirit
The Saint James Parish Libraries are proud to announce the successful conclusion of our 2025 Summer Reading Program, “Jazzed Up: Decades of Discovery.” Over the course of eight weeks, families, children, teens, and adults from across the parish participated in a vibrant celebration of literacy, creativity, and culture. Each week was themed around a different decade, from the 1920s through the 1990s, giving residents a chance to learn and play through the lens of the past.

Convent Woman Pleads Guilty To Multiple Counts Of Possession And Distribution Of Child Pornography
Twenty-third Judicial District Attorney Ricky Babin’s Office reports on July 21, 2025, twenty-five year old Destinee Poche (9282 Central Project St. Convent) pled guilty to Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles under 13-years of age (13 counts) and Distribution of Pornography Involving Juveniles under 13-years of age (3 counts).
