Summer is coming to a close, but don’t save those fishing poles. The St. James Boat Club will be holding their “Annual Jr. Fishing Rodeo” on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025. We are located at 39180 Hwy. 61 at the Scenic Blind River, which is located just outside of the Town of Gramercy.
At the regular monthly meeting of the Lutcher Louisiana American Legion Post 171, the elected officers were installed by Oliver Moore, III, State of Louisiana, American Legion. Also in attendance were Byron Comeaux, American Legion National Executive Committee, Willis London, State of Louisiana American Legion Department Sargent at Arms, George Duncan, State of Louisiana American Legion Aide Commander and Gary Gauthier American Legion Second District Commander.
Garden of the month for July was awarded by the Riverside Garden Club to Ralph and Mary Champagne. What first struck us about this garden is that it is filled with color and texture. Large cedar trees provide deep shade at the right and left sides of the house and at the brick patio on the east side of the house.
