Lady Bulldogs Begin District Play With Win

The Lutcher High Lady Bulldog Volleyball team began District 8-III play with a 26-24, 26-28, 25-21, 23-25, 15-12 victory over the Morgan City Lady Tigers. Leading Lutcher was Karli Bourgeois with 21 digs and one service ace. Teammate Harley Richard fired 10 kills. The Lady ‘Dogs also suffered a pair of losses to Hahnville and Riverside Academy. Against Hahnville, Lutcher dropped a 24-26, 23-25, 11-25 decision. Josie Robertson had 10 kills and Gracie Poche delivered 25 digs and two aces.
Winfield, Stingy Defense Too Much For Hahnville To Handle

Lutcher Bulldog senior quarterback D’Wanye Winfield continues to impress and his performance last Friday against the Class 5A Hahnville Tigers was one to remember. Lutcher beat the Class 5A Tigers 35-14 to improve to 6-1 (winner of five straight) on the year and Winfield played a huge role in the victory as he scored four rushing touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass.
Wildcats Cut Down And Chop Up Lumberjacks

St. James High’s students and the Wildcat football team had plenty to celebrate last Friday as not only was it was Homecoming, but the team registered a 55-13 victory over the Patterson Lumberjacks.
Gators No Match For Bulldogs, Next Up Hahnville

The South Terrebonne Gators were no match for the visiting Lutcher Bulldogs as the ‘Dogs improved to 5-1 (2-0 in District play) with a 42-7 victory. The Bulldog offense scored six times (three on the ground and three through the air), and after the Gators scored on their very first possession, the Bulldog defense stiffened and held them out of the end zone for the remainder of the game.
