The St. James Wildcat football team got over the hump in reaching the State Championship game as they defeated the Sterlington Panthers 28-17 in the Division III non-select semifinal playoff at Panther Stadium played in Monroe.
The 2023 Lutcher Bulldog football season ended last Friday at home at the hands of the Opelousas Tigers, who used a punishing rushing attack to take control of the game in the second half and punch their ticket to the Division II non-select semi-final round of the playoffs.
