THE PASSING OF LARRY LEBEOUF, SR.: A former Director of Human Resources for St. James Parish, Larry LeBeouf, Sr. died Friday, September 4, 2026, at age 83. I last spoke to Larry about two years ago to learn more about the cloth dolls that were made in St. James Parish. He was overwhelmed to know that the attorney in Washington, D.C. remembered him. She contacted him personally a short time afterwards to talked to him about the dolls made by parish workers. He was happy, asked about many people from “down home” and seemed to be very content living close to his son in New Orleans. That’s how Larry always was. He enjoyed working for parish government and I think he did his best. He and Carolyn were a handsome couple and often and they raised a great family with generational influence on both sides. His visitation and funeral were held last Saturday at St. James Catholic Church where we was a member.

If you asked LSU AgCenter horticulturist Jason Stagg to pick a favorite plant, he probably wouldn’t be able to choose just one. But there’s a good chance Turk’s cap would be near the top of his list.
