This Saturday, April 27, 2024, registered voters in St. James Parish who have not voted early are being asked to go to the polls and vote Yay or Nay on a proposed 10-year, 6mill ad valorem tax.
Sometime in the near future the St. James Parish Planning Commission will vote on whether to approve or deny a solar farm developer’s land use application to place a 2,200 acre solar farm (for 35-years) on current sugarcane fields in the heart of Vacherie.
