The Lutcher High Lady Bulldog volleyball team will have a familiar but different leader as they take the court for the 2022 season as long-time coach Ricky LeBlanc, who retired last spring, will be replaced by former assistant Chelsie Bergeron.
St. James High School is honored to announce that Coach Richard “Rick” Gaille, Coach Allen “Zot” Hymel and Cory Geason have been elected to the 2022 St. James High School Hall of Fame Class. The school and community are grateful for the accomplishments of each of these individuals.

The St. James Wildcats and the Lutcher Bulldogs had the opportunity to showcase their product last week in their respective jamborees and the teams gave fans a glimpse into what to expect when the teams officially start the regular season this week. Lutcher, who kicks off the season later this evening when the team travels to Thibodaux, hosted Class 5A Destrehan in its jamboree, while the Wildcats, who matched up with Vandebilt Catholic last Friday in Vacherie, open the season this Friday on the road at East St. John (Class 5A).
Editor Last Thursday, August 18th, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LDOTD) announced the westbound right lane on the Sunshine Bridge (LA 70) in St. James Parish was closed after a significant crack was found in one of the 168 vertical structural members. According to a press release issued by LDOTD, staff discovered the recently developed crack during a planned and routine inspection of the bridge.
