I, Danny Bernard Manuel, Alderman, Dist. 1, Division A am seeking another term on the Lutcher Town Council. I am a lifelong resident of Lutcher. Currently, I serve as the Sewage Commissioner for the town and a member of the Light Committee.

The family of Woodie Pollet would like to express our heartfelt thanks to our great neighbors, friends, and relatives for your outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time in our lives. Each of you provided a beautiful memory of Woodie that we will always cherish. Our sincere thanks go out to Fr. Vincent Dufresne, the St. Joseph Choir, and Rose Lynn Funeral Home. A heartfelt thank you to the Paulina Fire Department who welcomed Woodie with the fire truck and American flag to his final resting place in St. Joseph Cemetery. We would also like to thank all those who donated delicious foods, cards, floral arrangements and plants, Masses, and condolences to the family. Our thanks also go out to the members of the Catholic Daughters, Alter Society, Knights of Columbus, and the Lion’s Club for leading the recitation of the rosary.
St. James Parish President Peter Dufresne and his Administration have now been in office for two and a half years and President Dufresne says he is proud of the work his staff has done in identifying ways to save the Parish and its taxpayers money. President Dufresne said he is extremely proud of the fact that through the closing of the Shell refinery, COVID-19, and Hurricane Ida the Parish has managed to not only increase its cash position by $2 million, but no employees were laid-off due to budget shortfalls, and cost of living wage increases have been given each year he has been in office.
A St. James Parish Grand Jury convened on August 10, 2022, and jury members were busy as they handed down indictments in two separate cases. In the first case, the Grand Jury returned a True Bill of Indictment on 41-year old Lance Louque of 1351 2nd St., Lutcher on the charge of 1st Degree Murder in connection with the stabbing death of his mother, 68-year old Glenda Elder. On May 14, 2022, St. James Parish Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a Lutcher residence in reference to a caller that reported there was an unresponsive female being located under a carport connected to the residence.
