An ordinance regulating unsightly properties in St. James Parish was approved by the St. James Parish Council last week. Owners of property with grass or weeds measuring more than twelve inches from the ground will be notified and corrective action must be taken within ten days of the notification. The notice will be given or sent by personal delivery, certified mail or in the official journal to the property owner.
St. James Parish School Board members Kenneth “Wop” Foret and George Nassar made it official during Tuesday evening’s School Board meeting when the pair announced to their fellow Board members that they have decided to step down and not seek to be reelected to another term this November.
