Veterans Day Community Concert Set November 7th

5th District on the Move celebrated National Night Out 2023 in Welcome Park with activities, fun and games for the Young to the Young at Heart to over 200 participants. Program was opened with opening Prayer by Rev. Herbert Harris of St. Paul Baptist Church. Nadine Nelson gave a history of National Night Out. Member and Founder of the Organization were introduced: Trina Moll, Founder; Sandra Lewis, Rita Cooper and Nadine Nelson, members. The program was closed with a prayer by Father Mike O’Rourke of St. James Catholic Church.
The following prayer was submitted by Carol Taylor and the prayer is part of a larger story about a U.S. Marine who was saved by St. Micheal.

Jenny Poche was selected as Paulina Elementary’s Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Poche has been teaching for 23 years, with this being her 19th year at Paulina Elementary. She is a second grade magnet teacher and a member of our school’s Lighthouse Leadership Team. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from University of New Orleans.
