Across the River

It’s Christmas along the River Road. If all goes well, you should have this paper in your hands on Christmas Eve, the most wonderful time of the year for those who live in St. James Parish. Unless the weather forecasters are all wrong, the weather should be perfect for the lighting of the bonfires on the levee. About a week ago, someone posted on social media that she is coming from out of town, and this would be her first time to see the bonfires. She wanted to know where to park and what would be the best place for her to go to watch the bonfires. Very soon after the post was up, she had directions to personal homes for parking and invitations to gumbo and the traditional holiday meals and beverages. She will have a great time and will be well cared for while she is here. This is what St. James Parish people do.
