LA Department Of Environmental Quality Holds Public Hearing For YCI Methanol Water Permit

The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) held a permit hearing on Thursday, September 10, 2020 on behalf of the YCI Methanol One, LLC (YCI Methanol) Louisiana Department Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (LPDES) permit. The public hearing was held on the site of YCI Methanol in St. James as part of the state’s oversight and approval process.

New Day Aluminum Inks Deal To Sell Bauxite Residue To Cemtech

New Day Aluminum Holdings LLC, through its subsidiary Noranda Alumina, has executed a Letter of Intent with Cemtech Materials Corporation to sell 60,000 tons of bauxite residue beginning in the fourth quarter of 2020. This bauxite residue will be used in the cement production process as the raw material for iron (Fe), replacing other current iron bearing raw materials.
