The high school volleyball regular season started last week and all area teams are hoping for a successful season that will end with a state championship in Kenner at the Pontchartrain Center on Nov. 12-14.
Residents in Grand Point, Paulina, Convent and other areas of the east bank gathered at Paulina Park on Tuesday and met with officials with Entergy over frequent power outages that have plagued the area for a year and a half.
Despite the fact that the state of Louisiana currently remains in Phase II of reopening because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s (LHSAA) volleyball schools were able to tip off their seasons, with Phase II guidelines in place, this week as planned.
Another road block has been removed in regards to high school football beginning its season in the Fall of 2020.
St. James High School recently announced that Mr. James “Jake” Jacobs is an inductee to the St. James High School Mighty Wildcat Hall of Fame.
