The St. James Wildcat football team demonstrated its No. 1 ranking by decisively defeating the East St. John Wildcats 49-6 in the regular season opener played at Wildcat Stadium in Vacherie.

The Lutcher Bulldogs opened the 2025 high school football season on the road at Slidell and the Bulldogs, who led at the half and had an opportunity to pull away early in the second half, allowed 17unanswered points in the third quarter and were beaten 30-22.
