I am pretty sure if you would have told infectious disease experts last March, when Covid-19 shut down the entire world, that we would begin administering a highly effective vaccine before the end of 2020 that they would have said that was highly unlikely.

Thibodaux Regional Health System received its first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine recently. Thibodaux Regional will follow the state’s guidelines for prioritization of administering the vaccine to the highest priority group, which includes hospital personnel with direct patient contact. The vaccine will be released in phases, with the public anticipated to receive the vaccine in spring/summer 2021.
Louisiana is a State steeped in folkloric and cultural traditions. One such tradition is the lighting of bonfires on the Mississippi River levee on Christmas Eve.
