Each year the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Joseph #1642, sponsors a $250 scholarship award for a senior going to an accredited college and a $200 scholarship for an 8th grader going to a Catholic high school.

The Catholic Daughters Education Contest is open to 4th through 12th grade students. Contest entry forms were distributed to our local schools back in November. There is also an adult division for Catholic Daughter Members. This year’s theme choices were “Blessed are the Peacemakers” or “Living in Harmony with Others”. Categories include art, essay, poetry, computer art, music, and photography.

Low income residents of St. James Parish may be eligible for financial assistance to help pay their Entergy bill, through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The LIHEAP program is a federally funded program administered by St. James Parish Government, Department of Human Resources, CAA made available to St. James Parish through the Louisiana Housing Corporation. Persons applying for assistance must provide the necessary documentation below to complete a LIHEAP application:
