U.S. Department Of Transportation Maritime Administrator Presented $13.4 Million Grant Check To The Port Of South LA

At a ceremony held this morning at Globalplex’s Guesthouse, U.S. Maritime Administrator Admiral Mark H. Buzby, along with Senator Bill Cassidy and Representative Garret Graves, formally presented a check for $13.4 million to Port of South Louisiana Executive Director Paul Aucoin, a grant approved through the new U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration (MARAD) Port Infrastructure Development (PID) program for a Multi-Modal Connections project at Globalplex Intermodal Terminal.

St. James 4-H Members Shine At Parish Livestock Show

The 2020 St. James Parish Livestock Show and Awards Banquet were held January 24th-26th in Lutcher. This was the 44th Annual Livestock Show and Sale held by the LSU AgCenter here in St. James Parish. This year the St. James Parish 4-H/FFA Livestock Show was dedicated to Kenneth J. Guidry for his 37 years of dedicated service to the LSU AgCenter and youth of St. James Parish. 4-H livestock exhibitor’s faces glowed as they competed for top honors at the Junior Livestock show held on January 25th. The Lutcher Cow Palace was the fitting place for all the outstanding exhibitors and hundreds of supporters. The beautiful weather which allowed large crowds to cheer on the exhibitors helped us have a tremendous show. The rabbit and chicken show was once again a success after being added on Friday night last year.
