The OnPath Foundation announced the launch of its 2026 High School Scholarship Program, which will award 25 scholarships of $1,000 each to graduating high school seniors across Louisiana. Applications will be accepted through March 31, 2026.
Last week the Louisiana Ethics Board convened and one of the many matters taken up by the Board was an advisory opinion request made by the St. James Parish Council on whether a small tract of land owned by Parish President Pete Dufresne’s family (his deceased mother’s family) could be sold to the Parish to be used for Parish drainage and possibly for a sewer project in the distant future.
Four historic markers were revealed this past Saturday at the St. James Parish Library in Lutcher. Historians worked with Barbara Washington and Gail LeBeouf of Inclusive Louisiana as well as historians, pastors and members of the recognized churches to compile the information included on the markers.
